Our Vision

Building kingdom people who will strengthen families,
impact their city and change the world.

Our Mission

We are to train up and equip pastors and lay people to go and minister to others spiritually, emotionally, and physically.  This body is to be a true refuge to the downtrodden, oppressed, and less fortunate; a place where they can be strengthened and healed.  It will be also a sanctuary for leaders and ministers who will feel secure in seeking refuge here.

We will be a church on the front lines; a prophetic people who will be equipped, bold and unwavering about what the Spirit wants done in these last days.  Many spiritual fathers and mothers will be raised up to heal and disciple others to go out – people prepared to evangelize, prophesy, heal, deliver, and address the every day issues which deceive naïve Christians and the lost.

This will be a church where the uncompromising word of God goes forth to affect the kingdom of God in the city, the state and the nation.  Teams will be sent out to heal and train others to do the kingdom work, even across national boundaries.  The impact will be felt in established churches, as well as in the far reaches of the foreign mission field.

We are to be a lighthouse to our community and a beacon in the city.  Working hand-in-hand with sister churches, we will take the city.  This will involve the combined anointing and efforts of the churches and their members in a Holy Spirit orchestrated effort – crossing cultural, racial, denominational, and gender lines.

Our Beliefs

City of Refuge Christian Fellowship is a community church in northeast San Antonio that teaches about the True Light, Jesus, who has already overcome every circumstance of life on the cross at Calvary.

We also believe and teach:

  • The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the final authority for all matters of faith and conduct.

  • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, both God and Man, and that the only way to God the Father is through Jesus Christ.

  • We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of Jesus at the cross of Calvary.

  • We believe in the Spirit-filled life which includes growing in the grace of God; being perfected as well as being led by the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as explained in
    1 Corinthians.

  • We believe in the priesthood of the believers to offer spiritual sacrifices and to pray for, lay hands on, and directly minister to the needs of others.
